- Master’s degree in a behavioral science or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, or referral outreach.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health services and care pathways.
- Demonstrated success in building referral networks or partnerships.
- Experience in using sales management CRM software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in the field (travel within the local region required).
- Identify, map and prioritize high-potential annuity based referral sources.
- Develop and manage a weekly outreach schedule.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, gatekeepers, and staff at referral organizations through consistent communication, follow-up and value-driven engagement.
- Create and present customized value propositions for each referral source, informed by their unique patient population and needs.
- Track referral activity by source and identify trends, gaps and new opportunities to expand volume.
- Organize and attend targeted networking events, community meetings, conferences and industry functions to increase visibility and referral opportunities.
- Conduct quarterly outreach strategy reviews to align with capacity, staffing and market changes.
- Manage light social media posting for clinic events and outreach recaps if aligned with brand strategy.
- Position reports to the Clinic Director.
- Potential for occasional evening or weekend event attendance.
- Pay structure consisting of a base salary and a performance-based incentive/bonus plan tied to referral growth & new patient acquisition.
- Position may evolve over time to ensure success of the candidate as well as the clinic.

Many mental health and wellness-focused companies are non-profits or government agencies, which rely on the general public, grants, or large donors for funding. This model often results in little creativity and lower compensation for employees, promoting a work culture that just makes people feel “blah.”
Feeling blah doesn’t help employees stay motivated, engaged, or even in their jobs for a very long time!
