We are looking for a Play Therapist who excels in utilizing play therapy techniques and methodologies to assess and treat children's mental health needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of child development theories and therapeutic interventions for trauma, behavioral issues, and emotional disorders. They should possess strong skills in developing and implementing age-appropriate treatment plans, both individually and in group settings. Meticulous clinical documentation and adherence to ethical guidelines are essential, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for children and their families.
- Master’s degree in a behavioral science or related field from an accredited college or university
- LPCA, LMSW, LMFT-Associates with at least 2 years of experience and pursuing licensure with completion within 6 months.
- LPC, LCSW, and LMFTs with or without an existing caseload
- 1-2 years of experience providing individual therapy services for children 3-12 years old
- knowledge and experience with play therapy techniques and methodologies, specializing in assessing and treating children's mental health needs.
- Certified Play Therapist (CPT) Certification
- Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) training
- Filial or Parent-Child Interaction Therapy certification
- Music, Art, or Expressive Art Therapy training or certification
- Evaluate mental health diagnoses using DSM-5, create and implement treatment plans, and maintain ongoing documentation
- Maintain a caseload of at least 28 patient visits per week
- Availability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, and weekends, as needed, to effectively address community needs and ensure comprehensive coverage. Ability to shift hours and availability to meet clinic needs as needed.
- Comfort and familiarity in working with diverse client bases
- Actively participate in marketing and referral development activities
- Provide excellent customer service and employ creative interventions to help patients achieve their goals
- Coordinate services with various stakeholders as needed
- Attend and contribute to clinical staff meetings and trainings
- Proficiency in typical office technology and Electronic Health Record systems
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
- Other duties as assigned
