Job Summary

Ellie Mental Health is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Eating Disorder Specialist Therapist to join our team in Larchmont, NY. You will play a critical role in helping clients overcome eating disorders through individualized, evidence-based care. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and treat clients with eating disorders, including but not limited to anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and other relevant therapeutic approaches.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions, addressing the emotional, psychological, and behavioral aspects of eating disorders.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including dietitians, medical professionals, and psychiatric providers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Monitor client progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and maintain accurate clinical documentation, including diagnostic assessments, progress notes, treatment reviews, and case summaries.
  • Offer psychoeducation to clients and families regarding eating disorders, body image, nutrition, and the recovery process to enhance understanding and promote healing.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to foster continuous professional growth and improve client outcomes.
  • Support clients in their recovery journey, helping them develop healthier relationships with food and their bodies while fostering emotional resilience and coping skills.
  • This role involves both in-person and telehealth services, allowing for a hybrid work schedule that accommodates both client needs and clinician flexibility.
Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a behavioral health field (e.g., psychology, counseling, social work) from an accredited institution.
  • Clinical licensure (or working toward licensure) as an LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, or related credential in New York State.
  • Specialized training and experience in the treatment of eating disorders, with a strong understanding of the medical, psychological, and behavioral components of these conditions.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches for eating disorders, such as CBT, DBT, and FBT.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals, dietitians, and other care providers as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Proficient in completing diagnostic assessments, creating treatment plans, and maintaining detailed clinical documentation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to balance a moderate caseload and meet the needs of clients and families.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office 365.
